About Myofascial Release Therapy

Myofascial release therapy (MFR) is a hands-on therapy used to manage myofascial pain (“myo”= muscle / “fascia” = connective tissue).

MFR therapists use gentle, sustained pressure working directly on the skin to release tightness and pain throughout the myofascial tissues. First they will locate areas of tension in your soft tissues, then they’ll gently apply a sustained pressure for around 5 minutes until they feel the tension release.

What is Myofascial Release

Myofascial release is a gentle, hands-on therapy aimed at relieving tension in the connective tissue (fascia). Also known as Bodywork Therapy, or Fascia Massage, it helps improve mobility, reduce pain, and restore postural alignment.
The treatment involves light, sustained pressure on specific areas to release restrictions and promote healing. MFR therapists are skilled in identifying and addressing areas of tightness to enhance overall movement and function.

Myofascial Release can help with:

In your first myofascial release / bodywork therapy session, the therapist will discuss your medical history, areas of pain, and goals for treatment. They will assess your posture, range of motion, and areas of tension. The fascia massage treatment involves applying sustained, gentle pressure to release restrictions in the fascia (connective tissue). You may feel a sense of relief and greater mobility by the end of the session. The therapist may also recommend self-care techniques or stretches to enhance your results.
