Remote Services
Taking Osteopathy online - a remote video telehealth system for when you can’t make it in person…
Are you in acute pain and struggling to move at all? Injured yourself on holiday? Busy juggling work and family? Do you live remotely with limited access to Osteopaths? Do you work abroad?
“But Osteopathy is a hands-on treatment. How can a remote video consultation with an Osteopath help me?”
Hands-on treatment is only part of seeing an Osteopath. Using remote video sessions, your Osteopath can still take your case history, asses and diagnose your injury, treat and give expert advice (see Osteopathy)…all you need is reliable WiFi and a device with a camera and speaker.

1. Case History
Exactly the same as in person, we will ask questions about your injury, lifestyle and general health so we can build an accurate picture of what the issue may be. If you are an existing client, we will have your previous notes to hand.

2. Assess and Diagnose
Asses and diagnose - Your Osteopath will guide you through a variety of movements and tests to help determine what the issue is. We can still accurately see what is happening with your movements over video, and along with your feedback this provides similar information to us as it would in clinic.

3. Treat
Obviously we won’t be providing the more familiar hands-on treatment, however we can guide you through a series of movements, stretches and exercises to improve mobility and reduce pain. We can also guide you through self-massage techniques and taping (if appropriate). We may also give exercises for injury rehabilitation, and lifestyle advice for improving general wellbeing.

4. Advice
Just like in clinic, your Osteopath will empower you with expert knowledge and advice, answering any questions or concerns you may have about how you can speed your recovery process and return to a life in motion.
FAQs
Remote Osteopathic consultations are the same fee as in-person appointments. Your Osteopath will spend the same amount of time with you as they would in clinic (40 mins) and they are still using their same extensive training, knowledge and expertise to accurately asses, diagnose and support you. In some cases, they may recommend that you need to be seen in-person or refer you to another healthcare practitioner such as your GP for your safety depending on your symptoms.
The video calls are not recorded, however your notes will be recorded and stored as they would be in clinic. Our clinic software is fully GDPR certified and your data will never be shared to any third parties without your permission. The video calls will take place over the same GDPR compliant and secure platform.
